First, I'd like to thank my editor Susan for her hard work. I wore out her red ink pen, and this is just phrase one of the process. That's the good news. The bad news is that Journey to Redemption is very complex story (a category 5 plot structure in technical terms; Fortress was a two) and I've got more rework to do than I had figured. That's why you use a professional editor people. I can't say that enough if your trying be a professional writer.
Now for more bad news. This means that instead of Journey to Redemption being available in March like I planned, it will be more like May. But as I get more details, I'll let you know. I know it is more important to put out a good product than hit some deadline. I will ship no book before it's time. I'll try to put up some stuff onto www.Holimoren.com to help build the world, and maybe drop some hints on the follow up to Journey to Redemption. Just a quick update on where I am at with the next Holimoren story. It is going to be another Dar story, set years after Fortress of Angels. I've sent it off to the editor, Susan, and she's wearing out a full pack of red pens to help get it into shape. The cover artist, Vinnie, is also getting started, and once it's done, I'll put the book up for pre-order. "Journey to Redemption" is next, and I've started working on the third leg of the Dar story. Tentatively called "Assault on Bywater", it takes place just months after Journey to Redemption. After that I'm going to visit another character while Dar takes some rest. All the stories are set in Holimoren, so you'll recognize the places, just with new faces.
When the marked up edition of the manuscript comes back, I'll let you know. I'm trying to get it done by April, but I will serve no book before its time ;) Remember to drop a comment, I'll post again soon. |
